The pleached photinia or Christmas Berry is an evergreen espalier which, unlike other evergreen espaliers, is constantly changing. By this I mean that the colors change throughout the seasons. During the winter months the leaves are dark green. Early spring brings bright red buds, turning your green screen into a deep vibrant red. While the red colouring slowly subsides, delicate whitish green pearls soon open into white flowers. During the short period of bloom the flowers are very popular with honey bees.
Important:
Our pleached photinia is grown outside as a sapling. Then it is planted in a container and has one year to grow roots.
The result are strong trees that suffer a minimum of stress to the root system when replanting.
We offer pleached photinia in multiple stem heights.
