Henry's Lime.
This No. 1 bee tree is a rather special lime in our range. Tilia henryana has serrated leaves that run into dentated leaf margins. They are so delicate that they resemble eyelashes.
The decorative leaf of Henry's Lime does not drip, and the young leaves have a color which lies between pink and bronze.
Henry's lime as espalier is not only a beautiful tree, it is also incredibly interesting to bees and butterflies. The flowers hang in clusters on the interlacing branches and are more decorative than ordinary lime blossom. This why many beekeepers plant this tree in their garden.
In addition, hanging the flowers on the basis of the pleached branches means that they are preserved during pruning.
We offer these trees in 4, 5 and 7 levels.
The growth rate can be compared to the ordinary pleached lime. Cold winters can temporarily slow growth but the pleached lime will keep producing numerous shoots.
Available in bare root, balled and airpot +.
