Tilia henryana

This No. 1 bee tree is a special lime tree in our range. Tilia henryana has serrated leaves that grow into pointy teeth. These are so fine that they look like eyelashes.

The decorative leaves of this lime tree do not drip and the young leaves have a colour between pink and bronze. In addition to its beauty, the espalier lime tree is very interesting for bees and butterflies. The flowers hang in bunches from the lime arms and are more decorative than the ordinary lime blossom. This is why most beekeepers have planted this tree in their garden. Moreover, the flowers hang from the base of the trained branches so that they are preserved when pruned. We offer these trees in 4 and 5 and 7 storeys.

The growth rate is comparable to that of the common espalier lime. Cold winters may slow down growth temporarily but this espalier lime always produces numerous shoots. Available in bare root, root ball and in airpot+.
