Many people think that trees can only be planted in autumn or early spring, but for most tree species this is not the case. You can simply buy and plant trees in summer too, provided they are well grown and there is an appropriate follow-up. If you are unable to provide follow-up because you are travelling, for example, then summer is still the ideal time to prepare for an autumn planting.  After all, autumn is a busy period and our opinion is that the orientation phase of a greenery project is better not under pressure of time.

Why buying or choosing trees in summer is a good idea

Summer offers unique advantages when choosing trees:

You see the trees in their full summer condition - In winter, many trees are bare, making it more difficult to assess their shape, leaf texture and vitality.
Instant results in your garden - Instead of waiting months for growth, you can enjoy a green, full tree right away.
Ideal for planning - If a particular tree species is better planted in autumn, summer is the time to properly prepare your project and preview the trees.
You have time to look things over calmly. And to fully experience the atmosphere the tree gives
Less waiting time for delivery and planting. Summer is a calmer time in the nursery, so we can be more flexible and provide a faster service.
No risk of damage from flooding or frost damage in new plantings. You only have to take into account that the tree does not dry out.

What if a certain tree species is better planted in autumn anyway?

Some trees, such as certain deciduous species from root balls or certain models, are better planted in the dormant period (autumn or winter). But even then, it is smart to visit in summer. You can see the tree in its natural summer state, which helps you make the right choice.

Whether you want to plant immediately or get some inspiration, summer is an excellent time to buy trees. Feel free to drop by our nursery and get advice on the best choices for your garden!
